Hampton, NH - Margaret "Peggy" (Kalashian) Guckert, age 76, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2019, after a long illness. She was born in Newburyport, Massachusetts, on May 10, 1943, to the late John and Margaret (Mullarkey) Kalashian. Peggy was raised in Newburyport and graduated from Newburyport High School in 1961. She was a longtime resident of Haverhill before recently moving to Hampton, N.H., to enjoy the beach and tax-free shopping. Peggy also loved spending time in Siesta Key, Fla., and never missed a game night with friends.
Peggy was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 40 years, working in the Probation Department in both Haverhill and Newburyport District Courts.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Theodore Guckert of Hampton, N.H.; daughter, Suzanne Hickey and her husband Steve of York, Maine; granddaughters Ella and Ava. She was predeceased by her sister Marianne Kalashian.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High St., Newburyport, MA 01950. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. following the calling hours at Immaculate Conception Church with burial at St. Mary Cemetery.
