Margaret C. Harvey, 92, of Hampton, former longtime resident of Newburyport, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Oceanside Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hampton.
She was born in Newburyport, Mass., on October 7, 1924, a daughter of the late George and Kate (Hogg) Campbell.
Raised in Newburyport she graduated from Newburyport High School. She went on to work as an administrative assistant for the president of Bursaw Oil Company.
Margaret was a longtime member of the Hope Community Church in Newburyport, where she sang with the choir.
Surviving family members include her sister, Ruth Butt and her husband, Reggie of San Francisco, Calif.; grandchildren, Christine Harvey Jameson of Hampton, Michael Benjamin Harvey of South Portland, Maine; great-grandson, Liam Jameson of Hampton; nephews, Philip and Reggie Butt; and many other extended family members and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sons, David and Benjamin Harvey; brother, George J. Campbell; and grandson-in-law, Kyle Jameson.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, in the Hope Community Church, 11 Hale Street, Newburyport, MA 01950. Services will immediately follow the visitation at 11 a.m. in the church. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private.
