Amesbury - Lincoln D. Smith, 53, of Amesbury, formerly of Newburyport, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 1, at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Salem, Mass., he was the son of Sara (Hartzell) Smith and the late Donald E. Smith. Raised and educated in Newburyport, he was a graduate of Newburyport High School, class of 1983. He then continued his education at Fitchburg State College earning his bachelor's degree in English. Mr. Smith was employed in sales for most of his career. He was a fan of all New England sports teams and enjoyed music, travel, the local beaches, sailing, and had an interest in studying his family genealogy. A devoted family man, he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his nieces and his friends.

So sad to hear the news about Lincoln. I hung out with him and other Newburyport friends (Bobby Tebbetts Eddy,Tim,Finmann)in the 80’s and always had great and crazy times at his parents home on Rawson Avenue. He always made me laugh when reminiscing of fun times..I will truly miss hm and offer my deepest sympathies to his Mom and Sister.
