Leon Samuel's Story
Leon Samuel Belinisky, 75, of Topsfield, died Wednesday morning, November 22, 2017, at Wentworth Senior Living in Portsmouth, N.H.
Born and raised in his beloved Newburyport, Leon was the eldest son of the late Saul Belinsky and the late Gertrude (Cohen) Belinsky.
Leon was a family man first and foremost. He was an affectionate father, son, and husband who showed his love by giving and taking care of his loved ones. Leon developed a knack for business while helping with various family business attempts growing up. Like his father Saul, he was friendly and generous, but with enough of his mother Gert’s practicality to take care of business. He eventually built a successful small business, Marco Rubber and Plastics, that his son, Chad has continued to grow.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Wendy Loeb Belinsky (11/16/46 - 10/13/94). He is survived by wife, Judith (Lasoff) Belinsky; son, Chad Belinsky and wife, Kim; daughter, Kara Belinsky, husband, Neil Bettez; daughter, Lauren Belinsky; stepson, Jay Lasoff and wife Toni; stepdaughter, Randi Hathaway, husband, Jeff; stepdaughter, Lori Lampert and husband, Seth; grandchildren, Wendy, Stephen, Katie, Sadie and Sophie, and brother, Howard Belinsky.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Newburyport Hebrew Cemetery, Toll Road Extension, Salisbury. All are welcome to attend. Arrangements are by Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport.
