Lawrence Burnham Howie, 80, of Amesbury, Mass., passed away peacefully at His Home of 52 years on November 29, 2017. He was born and raised in Marblehead, Mass., on November 2, 1937. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Ruth Howie (Burnham). He is survived by his son, James Howie and wife, Jamie (Arseneau) Howie of Merrimac, Mass.; daughter, Jami (Howie) Dion and husband, Steven Dion of Raymond, N.H. He leaves behind four grandchildren, Jillian (Howie) Solorzano, Jayson Howie, Nicole (Dion) Maurier, and Anya Dion. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Isaiah James Solorzano, and Levi Maurier.
Mr. Howie worked for State of Massachusetts Fish and Game Department, in Newbury, Mass., retiring after 30 years. Larry also served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1966. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed spending time in Northern New Hampshire and Vermont. He loved to hunt birds and fish. When he wasn't spending time outside, he was woodworking, building decoys and boats.
Private services will be held. The family would like to thank Care Dimensions of Danvers for all of their support. Arrangements are by the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home in Amesbury.
