Joseph E.'s Story
Joseph E. Towers, age 20, of West Newbury passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016, in Easton, Pennsylvania.
Born in Newburyport on April 21, 1996, he was the son of Jeffrey and Pamela (Reid) Towers of West Newbury and was a graduate of the Waring School in Beverly, Class of 2014. Joey was a Marquis Scholar at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania and third year mechanical engineering student. He was also an active member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity.
Joey was passionate about music and enjoyed playing, writing and recording. He loved biking and spent his summers working at a local bike shop. He also enjoyed spending time on the Merrimack River. He will be remembered by his friends and family for the joy that he brought to everyone around him through music and his ability to bring communities together with this gift.
In addition to his beloved parents, he leaves behind his sister, Caitlin; maternal grandmother, Angea Reid; paternal grandmother, Patricia Towers; paternal grandfather, Robert Towers; four uncles, Virle Reid, James Towers, Steven Towers and William Towers and their families; as well as many loving friends.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 5, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 166 High Street, Newburyport.
