John W. Kamieneski, 87, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Kindred Greenbriar Terrace Nursing Home in Nashua, N.H.
He was born in Newburyport on May 2, 1929, to the late Uslyn and Olga (Bujal) Kamieneski.
John was raised and educated in Newburyport and was a 1948 graduate of Newburyport High School, where he was Class President for four years as well as an exceptional football player. In 1948, he was awarded the James J. Healey Trophy for citizenship and sportsmanship. He also received a 4-year scholarship to Holy Cross, where he graduated with a B.S. in Social Science in 1952. He was inducted into the Newburyport Wall of Fame in 2009.
John married the love of his life, the late Lorraine (Pellerin) Kamieneski in 1953, while enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served our country proudly during the Korean War, and he began his employment with Shell Oil Company in 1954, after being honorably discharged from the Army. He was employed as a Sales Manager by Shell for some 30 plus years until his retirement in 1985.
In retirement, John enjoyed travel and golf. He has been on golf trips with his family all over the world and golfed on many of the most prestigious courses in the United States, Scotland, and Ireland. John also enjoyed watching the New England sports teams competing. He never lost his love of the outdoors and sports. He maintained a beautifully landscaped yard, which looked better year after year; Although nothing made him happier than spending time with his family.
 John is survived by his children, Wayne Kamieneski and his wife, Terry of Londonderry, N.H., Brian Kamieneski of Bedford, N.H, Allan Kamieneski and his partner, Ellen Killam of Billerica, and Scott Kamieneski and his wife Eresia of North Andover; grandchildren, Shawn Kamieneski, Elise Izzo, Alexis, Scotty, and Brooke Kamieneski, and Johnathan and Matthew Kamieneski, great-grandchildren, Eli and Evan Izzo, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Tobin, Jenny O’Gorman, Walter Kamieneski, Stanley Kamieneski and Stacia Stanton. 
 Family and friends may call on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High St., Newburyport, MA 01950. Parking is available behind the Funeral Home. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Church followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery both in Newburyport.
