AMESBURY: John Paul O'Connor, age 75, of Amesbury, died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on Friday morning, December 21, 2017.
Born in Niagara Falls, NY on May 10, 1942, he was the son of the late William and Gladys O'Connor and was a graduate of Bishop Duffy High School.
John was an accomplished artist and craftsman. Throughout his life he had acquired and extensive collection of art books, which were his prized possessions. He enjoyed math puzzles, and was a lover of nature, captured every nuance of its endless beauty while out taking his walks. He especially loved all that the Cape had to offer, from its beaches and dunes, to its wildlife and its miles of pristine trails.
He is survived by a daughter, Marissa O'Connor and husband Scott Mandeville of Amesbury; grandson, Connor William Mandeville; former wife and dear friend, Deborah Peabody; a sister, Lynn Liaros; his brother-in-law George Brown; along with seven nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Anne Brown and his brother-in-law, Jim Liaros.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Main Street Congregational Church, 145 Main Street, Amesbury on, January 13th at 1 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to Pine Street Inn Homeless Shelter, 444 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA or to the Cape Cod National Seashore.
