John M. Ferrara, age 66, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Dianne (Walsh) Ferrara. Born in Haverhill, March 10, 1951, he was the son of the late Frank and Caroline (Freer) Ferrara. John was a renowned musician/bass player during his life, playing in bands such as Hot Flash, Carrot Tree, Crosswinds, and Adrial. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, close friends, and band mates. John enjoyed time spent coaching soccer with his children and many of their friends. He was an avid soccer fan. John also enjoyed vacationing with his family in York Beach, Maine during the summer. John's career took him into working with people with disabilities. He was well-respected and regarded by both staff members and individuals with whom he worked. He will be deeply missed by his loving family. John is survived by his wife, Dianne Ferrara of Seabrook, NH, his daughter, Ashley Ferrara of Rangeley, ME and his son, Jonathan Ferrara of Seabrook, NH; his uncle and aunt, James and Marjorie Freer of Groveland, MA; his brothers and sisters- in-law; David and Maureen Walsh of Billerica, Denise and Steven Acquaviva of Pepperell and Arthur and Patricia Huntley of Billerica, and his several nieces and nephews.
A funeral organized by the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Road., (Rt. 3A), Billerica, will be held on Friday, January 19, at 11 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Andrew's Church, North Billerica at 12:05 p.m..
