Waterford, CT - Jeffrey Sarres, 91, formerly of Newport News, Va., died Monday, May 6, 2019, at Greentree Manor, Waterford, Conn. He was predeceased by his loving wife Juanita Taylor of 40 years. He was the son of the late George and Penelope (Demestihas) Sarantakos of Newburyport, Mass., where he was born on March 3, 1928. Upon graduation, he worked as a real estate agent in Newport News, Va., and also as a substitute teacher.

Jeffrey was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. His greatest joy was taking trips to his beloved hometown of Newburyport where he would look up every friend and high school classmate, visiting, and reminiscing about "the good old days." Jeffrey was a member of the VFW, Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church of Newport News, Virginia, and Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Newburyport.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brothers Stephen Sarres of Newport News, Va., and Nicholas Sarris, of Old Lyme, Conn.; and a sister Katherine Sewell, of Kansas City, Mo.
