Text size

Jeffrey Thomas Krumrine, known as Tom by his family and childhood Cape Cod friends, and as Jeff in college and later years in Newburyport, MA, passed away on November 25, 2017 following a brief illness. Son of the late James F. Krumrine, he is survived by his mother Irene Rovatti Krumrine, siblings James B. Krumrine and wife Oggie of Jacksonville, FL; Bruce Krumrine and wife Julie of Santa Clarita, CA; Cheryl Krumrine of Independence, VA; and Paula Hook and husband Walter of Whitestone, VA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews JJ, Kristel, Duncan and Griffin Krumrine; and Noah and Spencer Hook.

For all who knew Jeff he will be remembered for his magnanimous personality and zeal for life. He always had a smile for everyone and a cheerful disposition. He lived life to its fullest, enjoying traveling the world with friends and family, going to Tanzania to help establish an orphanage, campaigning tirelessly for the Democratic Party, and volunteering for many organizations and charitable causes over the years.

Jeff prided himself in being a news and political junkie and relished his time working on Governor Deval Patricks campaign, previously heading the Newbury Democrat Committee, and liaising with all of his political connections locally and on The Hill when he lived in D.C. while attending George Washington University and completing a Masters Certificate in PACs and Political Management. He previously received a Bachelors Degree from University of Massachusetts. Jeff was a committed and dedicated Dem.

Jeff loved his connections with family and friends and brought happiness and laughter to those who knew him. He believed life was to be lived in all ways big and small and he did just that. He loved the ocean, having grown up in Bourne and lived in Newburyport. He had sailed the Caribbean and spent many years on sailing vessels, visiting St. John and Key West where he loved true island time. He also loved the mountains and hiking, and was a music aficionado loving rock and roll and traveling to Hawaii to hear Pearl Jam play, a great memory of his. He was a World Cup Soccer fan and loved watching their matches with friends at The Port Tavern in Newburyport, where he also followed the games of his beloved New England Patriots.

Jeff will be missed for his intelligence, wit, generosity and incredible sense of humor.

A celebration of his love for life will be forthcoming.

For those who want to give in remembrance of Jeff/Tom, donations may be sent to St. Pauls Church, Among Friends,166 High Street, Newburyport, MA 01950.
