Amesbury - James Dane Chandler, Jr., 80, longtime Amesbury resident, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2019 from complications of Type I diabetes, at Country Center, Newburyport, surrounded by the love of his family.
He leaves his beloved wife of 51 years, Sally (Raube) Chandler of Amesbury; their daughters, Sage Chandler and husband Kurt A. Schwarz of Loudoun County, VA, Emily [Chandler] Martin and husband Michael S. Martin and three grandchildren, S. Avery Martin, Brooke A. Martin and Nathan S. Martin, all of Southlake, Texas. He also leaves his sister, Mary Jane Miller and her family, sister-in-law Betsy Sterzel, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to two organizations for which he cared deeply, the Union Congregational Church Restoration and Preservation Alliance, P.O. Box 208, Amesbury, MA 01913 or to the Cushing Garden at the Museum of Old Newbury, 98 High Street, Newburyport, MA 01950.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 17th at 1 p.m. at the Union Congregational Church, 350 Main St., Point Shore, Amesbury. Private internment will be at the Salisbury Point Cemetery, Amesbury.
