Ida Lorraine Morris
Ida loved her two children, Sandra and Norman. She enjoyed going to the beach with her sister Irene. Ida loved all of her brothers and sisters and hosted many gatherings of the Levesque clan at her house. She enjoyed and loved cooking big family meals, and she excelled at making homemade pasta for her Italian dishes and amazing artisan breads from scratch. When her kids were young, she enjoyed taking them to Newburyport for the day to visit friends and relatives and to shop on Pleasant Street. Ida worked at the Saint Joseph’s rectory and the Amesbury Hospital cafeteria where she made many lifelong friends. Ida was a loving and caring spouse to her husband “Pete” to whom she was married for 62 years. Ida built many houses with her husband. Often times they would live in a small camper on the lot from the beginning of spring until the end of summer when the new house was finished. Ida loved her best friend Jackie Deschenes. The two of them were known by all in the neighborhood to talk for hours on the phone together when then couldn’t manage to find time to meet face to face. Ida spent many hours and miles traveling to take care of her six grandchildren. When the children were very young she would often be seen floating the kids around the shallow end of the pool in a large plastic tub. The laughter would never stop. She will always be remembered by those who knew her well for her love of skin creams, loose fitting clothes and her unique talent for yodeling.
Ida leaves behind her husband Norman; her son Norman Morris and wife Elizabeth; her siblings, Aurore Follansbee, Robert and Victor Levesque; her grandchildren, Kate, Sarah, Angela, Alex, John, and Wesley; and her numerous nieces and nephews. Her beloved daughter, Sandra, sister Irene, and brothers David, William and Wilfred, preceded her in death.
