Ida M. (Spinney) DeWilde

January 01, 1945 - December 02, 2018

Ida M. (Spinney) DeWilde Amesbury, MA - Ida M. (Spinney) DeWilde, 73, longtime Amesbury resident, died Sunday afternoon, December 2, 2018, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital with her devoted family by her side.

Daughter of the late Horace and Vanita (Holt) Spinney, Ida was born in Eliot, Maine, on January 1, 1945, and was a graduate of Eliot High School.

After marrying her husband, David M. DeWilde, and settling in Amesbury, she became the proud mother of three children and even prouder grandmother of three grandsons and a granddaughter.
Her life focused around her family, and she would never have wanted it any other way. Seeing her children develop into the wonderful adults they became and knowing that she was an integral part in their lives, held enough joy for two lifetimes. But little did she expect that with the onset of her grandchildren, the joy she experienced would be beyond anything she could have imagined.

In addition to her husband of 52 years, David DeWilde, she leaves behind her son, David Andrew DeWilde and wife Kerensa of Amherst, N.H.; her two daughters, Danielle Coker and husband Barry of Salisbury, and Vanita M. Henderson and husband David of Amesbury; her four grandchildren, Noah DeWilde of Amherst, N.H.; Matthew Coker of Salisbury, Joey Henderson of Amesbury and Rebekah Henderson and fiancé Josh Thom of Groveland; along with countless nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Tyler B. Spinney and A. Horace Spinney; her sister, Sharlene Smith; and her daughter-in-law, Jenny DeWilde.

Visiting hours at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, will be Thursday, December 6, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 7, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Church of the Holy Family Parish, 2 School Street, Amesbury, followed by burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Eliot, Maine. Donations in her memory may be made to Diamond Blackfan Anemia Foundation, with checks payable to the DBA Foundation, Post Office Box 1092, West Seneca, NY 14224; Future Insight, 25 Walker Street, Concord, NH 03301, or to the Windrush Farm, 79 Lacy Street, N. Andover, MA 01845.
