Guy M.'s Story
Guy M. Bailey, 95, beloved husband of Ellen J. (Bulter) Bailey, died Friday, July 7, 2017, at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Leone F. and Agnes M. (Edgecomb) Bailey.
He was raised in Manchester-by-the-Sea and graduated from Story High School, Class of 1940.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army.
Mr. Bailey owned and operated Bailey’s Service Station in Manchester for over 50 years until the time of his retirement.
Born and raised in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mr. Bailey was a founding member and past president of the Manchester Lions Club and a member of the Manchester Masonic Lodge. He was also a longtime Patriots fan and season ticket holder. Guy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife with whom he shared 26 years of marriage, he is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Singleton and her husband, Robert of Rhode Island and Lori K. Bailey of Connecticut; one son, Michael Butler of Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Alecia Singleton and Joseph Singleton; and nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Francis, Richard, and Robert Bailey.
His funeral service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, Thursday, July 13, 2017, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
