SALEM, MA - Geraldine "Gerri" A. (Vivolo) Guarino, 71, of Salem, passed away January 18, 2018, in the Brentwood Nursing Home, Danvers with family at her side. She was the loving wife of Gareth Guarino of Salem.
Born in Boston, Mass., Gerri was the daughter of the late John and Concetta (Ferentino) Vivolo. Geraldine worked in childcare during the early years of raising her sons and served for many years at hospitals in Boston and Salem in medical records and secretarial roles. She found joy in helping and serving her family, her friends and others. She did this through her devoted home-making, loving her husband, sons and grandchildren, caring for and making herself available to her friends and extended family whenever they were in need. She gave much of her time to volunteering and expressed so much joy in just rocking babies at the local hospital in the special care nursery.
Surviving Geraldine, along with her husband, Gareth Guarino of Salem, are two sons, Ian Guarino and his wife, Ilse of Ipswich, Mass., and Evan Guarino and his wife, Jennifer of Hoboken, N.J.; five grandchildren, Aaron, Ellis, Jesse, Mila, and Ryan Guarino; a brother, Bernard Vivolo of Boston; and a sister, Angela Vivolo of Boston.
