OCALA, FL- Gerald A. McPhail, 78, of South Hampton, passed away December 20, 2017 in Ocala, FL. He was the husband of the late Carol A. McPhail.
Born in Brattleboro, Vt. on January 14, 1939, he was the son of the late Allan and Elizabeth McPhail. He grew up in Gloucester, Mass. where he graduated from St. Ann's High School in 1956. Gerald was a long time resident of Amesbury, Mass. He was the owner and operator of the Amesbury Fish Market located on Friend Street and worked for many years at the Seabrook Greyhound Park. After retirement, he and his wife split their time between New England and Florida.
Gerald was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, especially traveling with his wife.
Gerald will be lovingly missed by his daughter, Kristine Herman of New Durham, N.H.; his granddaughter, Jennifer Donnelly and her husband, Gary of Epping, his grandson, Jonathan Herman and his wife, Lisa of South Hampton, and his three great-grandsons, Logan and Cooper Oliveira, and Cameron Herman.
A private family burial will be held at a later date.
