George A.'s Story
George A. Gaouette, 82, of Seabrook, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at his home surrounded by loving family.
He was born in Newburyport, on September 8, 1934, one of fifteen children of the late George A. and Helen (Ploof) Gaouette, Sr.
George was raised in Newburyport. As a young man, he enjoyed refinishing antique furniture with his father. He had also worked at the former Lewis Shoe of Amesbury and at the Market Basket in Seabrook. George loved to fish, split and stack wood and he also liked crocheting.
He is survived by his wife and longtime companion, Pamela (Downs) Gaouette; his stepson, James Drake and his siblings, Barbara Gaouette, Debra Morris, Shirley Gaouette, Charman Gaouette, Beverly Malarie, Alfreda Gills and James and Peter Gaouette. He also leaves 56 nieces and nephews and five great-nieces. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
George was predeceased by his siblings, Yvonne, Doris, David, Victor, Joseph and William Gaouette.
