Frances Marie (Rogers)'s Story
Frances Marie Miller, 87, died peacefully at The Manor Nursing Home in Morrisville, Vt. on January 31, 2017 after a 21 year battle with Parkinson’s disease. She had lived in Waterville, Vt. for 20 years.
She was born September 8, 1929 in Amesbury, MA, the daughter of Vivian and Gilbert Rogers. Fran graduated from Amesbury High School and had two wonderful daughters and then was remarried to James Miller who had two sons.
Her career included ten years as Head Public Relations Manager at a large yacht brokerage on Long Island, NY and then 10 years as a counselor at a relocation real estate corporation in Chicago.
Fran enjoyed dancing, television and helping five of her grandchildren grow up and develop.
Survivors include her sister, Shirley Rogers of Amesbury, MA; daughter, Cathy Hughes; daughter, Gayle Mahl; son, James D. Miller; and son, David Miller; grandchildren, Cally Hughes, Peter Hughes, Mike Hughes, Jessie Mahl, David Mahl, Jr., Kattie Miller, Nate Miller, Kristin Miller and Shawn Miller. She is also survived by her husband, Jim Miller.
Visiting hours are being held at the Highland Street Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services at the funeral home will be on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. followed by burial in Bartlett Cemetery.
