Eugene A.'s Story
Eugene A. Winter, Sr., 74, of Merrimac, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, June 13,2017, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on November 23, 1942, son of the late Floyd and Louise (Grebenstein) Winter of Hedding, N.H.
He retired from Owen’s Illinois, Newburyport, after 35 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved to plant any type of flowers. As well as woodworking with his hands, he could build anything out of wood.
He is predeceased by his brothers, Sonny Winter of Exeter, N.H., and Roland Winter and Leslie Winter of Newton, N.H.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Donna (West) Winter of Merrimac; his brother, David Winter of Grafton, N.H. and his sister, Janet (Winter) Marquis of Derry, N.H.; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joanne Evans and Arthur Evans of Merrimac. He is also survived by his loving children, Leslie (Winter) Archambeault of Manchester, N.H., Leeanne (Winter) Barton of Paris, Ky., Eugene A. Winter Jr. of Haverhill, William Winter of Exeter, N.H., Kenneth Twombly, Jr. of Amesbury, Lee-Ann (Twombly) Edwards of Merrimac and Terry (Twombly) Griffin of Raymond, N.H., along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours at Paul Rogers Family Funeral Home, 36 West Main Street, Merrimac, will be Thursday, June 15th from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Union Cemetery, Newton, N.H.
