Cecile (Langer)'s Story
Cecile (Langer) Fram, age 97, longtime Newburyport resident, passed peacefully at Anna Jaques Hospital, Tuesday evening, May 30, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Irving Fram, who passed in 1986.
Born in Winthrop, Mass. on January 17, 1920, she was the daughter of Max and Julia (Briefer) Langer.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who loved her family dearly, and had worked hand in hand with her husband Irving at their business, Eaton’s Drug Store. Cecile had volunteered at the Anna Jaques Hospital Gift Shop more than 20 years and has been a member of the Congregation Ahavas Achim over 60 years. People would attend the Synagogue to “break the fast” just to have a piece of her delicious lokshen kugel.
Her life’s legacy will be cherished forever by her son, Steven, Fram and wife, Heidi; her daughter, Sheryl Blair and husband, Robin; her two grandsons, who were her pride and joy, Eric and Daniel Blair; her two brothers, Theodore Langer and Charles Briefer, along with several generations of nieces and nephews, extended family members and many dear friends.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 2, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Congregation Ahavas Achim, 53 1/2 Washington Street, Newburyport, followed by burial at the Newburyport Hebrew Cemetery, Salisbury. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Robin and Sheryl Blair, 10 Dexter Lane, Newburyport, following the services and the family will continue to welcome their friends through Sunday evening. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Anna Jaques Hospital Aid Association, 25 Highland Avenue, Newburyport, MA 01950 or to the Congregation Ahavas Achim, 53 1/2 Washington Street, Newburyport, MA 01950.
