Catherine P. (McCue) "Cathie"'s Story
Catherine P. (McCue) “Cathie” Maslanka, 75, Newburyport, passed unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, November 22, 2017, at her beloved home on Plum Island. As her husband, Mitchel, said, “We lived in Acton, Mass., for 23 years and now Newburyport at 26 years has been our most favorite."

She was a graduate of Lawrence High School, after which she went on to graduate from the Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing, pursuing a lifetime career as a registered nurse. Cathie worked at Mass General Hospital early in her career but most of her working career was with various visiting nurses associations.
She shared a lifetime of special memories with her family and friends, acquaintances and co-workers, freely sharing her gift of compassionate care with everyone who was part of her life.

Maslanka; her daughter, Pamela Maslanka of Haverhill; her son, Mark Maslanka and wife, Lynne of Northborough, Mass.; her dearest grandsons, Mitchel and Cole, who captured her heart completely; her uncle, Jimmy; her brother, James McCue; along with extended family and countless friends.
