Byron E.'s Story
Byron E. Merrill, 87, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2017, at the Country Center in Newburyport, Mass.
Byron was born in Georgetown to the late Warren H. and Elizabeth A. (Paul) Merrill on October 6, 1929. Byron proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and upon returning home started his own air conditioning and refrigeration business as a mechanic. Mr. Merrill was a lifelong member of The VFW, Post 7608 in Georgetown and a former member of the Refrigeration Society and the Ostomy Club, both in Boston. Byron was the beloved husband of the late Susan B. (Barton) Merrill and is survived by his sister, Florence L. Schwartz of Georgetown, as well as his many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday, July 12, at 11 a.m. in the Conte - Giamberardino Family Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant St., Georgetown. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the West Parish Cemetery, Andover.
