Bernard W.'s Story
Bernard W. Corcoran, age 88, passed away on April 20, 2017, at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He was the son of the late Margaret Stella and husband of Lucille (Puleo-Lech) Corcoran for over 30 years. Bernie was born in Boston and raised in Charlestown. In 1946 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country honorably during the Korean War. He later went to Northeastern University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He had a 33 year career at Macom and retired in 1991. Bernie was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, painting and spending time with his family.
Bernie is survived by his daughters, Marie Ross of Oregon, Loreli Corcoran of Lowell, Lauren Coleman and her husband, Craig of Arizona, Gina Corcoran-Bromley and her husband, Chris of Colorado; his step-children, Randy Hawkes of New Hampshire and Alfred Lech, Jr. of South Carolina. He also leaves his grandchildren, Katie Corcoran, Jason Cooke, Nathan, Megan, Meilani and Shaylee Coleman, Joshua, Layton, Adam and Summer Bronley, Jennifer Meskell, Jeffrey Newel, Matthew Theobold, Melissa, Amanda, Matthew and Jonathan Lech. He was predeceased by his son, Bernard Corcoran, Jr., Ronald Lech, Kathleen Fortin, his brother, Michael Corcoran, and sister, Patsy Colon.
