Barbara D.'s Story
Barbara D. Fuller of Amesbury, age 90, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on December 29, 2016.
She was the third of four children of the late William and Dorcas Bunn of Flint, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University and met John Fuller while working at The Union at the University of Michigan in 1946. They married in 1947. In 1949, they relocated to Amesbury, Massachusetts to take over John’s family business, Fuller’s Menswear. The two remained happily married until his death in 2015.
In her spare time, Barbara was an avid cook and quilter, enjoyed her many pets and making the best pancakes and pie! With John, she also loved traveling the world and hosting parties around the pool for her extended family and many friends.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Joyce Souchek; and her four children, son, Ron Fuller and wife, Ruth Anne; daughters, Mary McGee and husband, Allen, Susan Buppert and Patricia Fuller. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, Colin McGee and wife, Kara, Meghan McGee Desfosses and husband, Alfie, Todd Fuller, Tori Fuller, Teale Howe and husband, Patrick, Kristen Buppert, Matt Buppert and wife, Dove, Joe Buppert, Ryan McAskill and Sean McAskill; and four great-grandchildren, Tyler Howe, Grady Howe, Dylan Desfosses and Lily Elvera Desfosses.
A private service will be held for friends and family. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to be made in her name to the Haverhill Public Library or the Market Street Baptist Church Steeple Lighting Fund in Amesbury. Arrangements are by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury.
