Barbara Ann's Story
Mrs. Barbara Ann Doyle, 74, died October 18, 2017, at her residence in Barefoot Bay, Fla.
She was born in Portsmouth, N.H., and wintered in the Barefoot Bay, Fla., area for 10 years prior to moving full time a year ago, coming from Hampton, N.H.
Barbara received her Bachelor's of Education from Keene State Teachers College in Keene, N.H., and her Masters from Lesley College, Cambridge, Mass.
She retired after working as a teacher of elementary education and computer science in the Portsmouth School District, for over 35 years.
She was a retired officer of the NEA, past president of the Portsmouth Teachers Association for many years, Past President of the New Hampshire Retired Teachers Association, and was very active in the Democratic Party locally and statewide in New Hampshire.
Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Richard Doyle of Barefoot Bay; son, Michael Hopley (Nicole) of Rye, N.H.; daughter, Kristin Chase (Christopher) of Portsmouth, N.H.; grandchildren, Connor, Calista and Dylan; brother, Ken Loughlin (Carole) of Dover, N.H.; nieces, Kerry and Meghan; nephew, Ryan; and sister-in-law, Diane Loughlin of Harpswell, Maine.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Loughlin.
Services will be held in Barefoot Bay, Fla., with memorial services at a later date in Portsmouth, N.H.
