Barbara A.'s Story
NEWBURYPORT, MA - Barbara A. (French) Noyes, age 85, a longtime resident of Salisbury, died Thursday morning, February 22, 2018, at Port Health Center in Newburyport, with her family by her side.
One of three children of the late Wesley E. and Esther B. (Griswold) French, she was born in Newburyport, on September 6, 1932, and attended Salisbury Schools before graduating from Amesbury High School.
She worked for many yeas as a home health aid for the Home Health V.N.A. of Haverhill, retiring in 1991.
Barbara was a member of the East Parish United Methodist Church of Salisbury for many years, always helping with the church fairs, suppers, or whatever activities were going on - she loved to be involved with her church family.
She leaves behind three sons, William J. Guy Jr., of Kingston, N.H., Robert W. Guy of Seabrook, N.H., and Kevin M. Guy of Kingston, N.H.; six grandsons, whom she totally adored, Robert Guy of Greenland, N.H., Thomas Guy and Edward Guy of Seabrook, N.H., Kyle Guy and Michael Guy of Kingston, N.H., and Austin Guy of Seabrook, N.H.; her sister, Edith Bodwell of Maynard; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was the sister of the late Wesley E. French Jr., of N.J.
Visiting hours at the Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, will be Thursday, March 1, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the East Parish United Methodist Church, 8 Lafayette Road, Salisbury. Burial will be in Long Hill Cemetery, Salisbury, weather permitting, otherwise in the Spring. Donations in her memory may be made to the East Parish United Methodist Church 8, Lafayette Road, Salisbury, MA 01952.
