Arlene (Bartley)'s Story

Arlene (Bartley) Cook, age 75, a lifelong resident of Amesbury, passed at the Merrimack Valley Rehab Tuesday morning surrounded by her loving family. She was the eldest of two daughters of the late John M Bartley and Lillian (Dufresne) Bartley.
She was a graduate of Amesbury High School class of 1960. For many years Arlene worked as bookkeeper at various businesses in the local area.
She leaves behind her devoted children, Cheryl (Cook) Cote and husband, Scott of Amesbury, Steven Cook and wife, Karen of Danville, N.H.; her beloved grandchildren whom she was so proud of, Heather Ames and her Fiancee Trevor Collins of Nashua, N.H., Adam and Taylor Cook of Danville, N.H.; her sister, Shirley (Bartley) Palermo and husband Jasper of Amesbury. She also leaves nephews Jay and Brian Palermo and niece Carla Palermo of Amesbury.
Arlene had many friends who she cherished dearly. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her. The family of Arlene Cook wished to thank the Merrimack Valley Rehab and Brooke Haven Hospice for the loving care given to her.
By her request, there will be no services and burial will be private for her family. Arrangements are by the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home in Amesbury.
