Ann Marie's Story
Ann Marie Fitzpatrick, 71, died Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, Mass. She was born on May 17, 1945, in Malden, Mass., to the late Joseph F. and Marie E. (Hall) Fitzpatrick. Raised in Rowley, Ann Marie was a graduate of Newburyport High School, Class of 1963. Following high school she graduated from Salem State College then furthered her education at Boston University, obtaining her Masters Degree in Liberal Arts History.
She was employed as a teacher for the Triton Regional School System for 35 years until her retirement in 2001. During her employment, Ann Marie was the recipient of a Summer Fulbright in Rome in 1992. In her retirement years she enjoyed antiquing with friends and family. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, especially painting in the folk-art style.
Ann Marie is survived by her siblings, Paul Fitzpatrick and his wife, Charlene of Michigan; Helen Fitzpatrick of North Conway, N.H.; Dennis Fitzpatrick and his wife, Ann of Brentwood, N.H.; and Michael Fitzpatrick of Amesbury, Mass.; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Edward Fitzpatrick.
Family and friends may call on Friday, November 18, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High St., Newburyport, MA 01950. Parking available behind the funeral home. Her funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 11 a.m. Burial will be private at a later date.
