Ann G. (Peterson) Wiswell Waterville, ME - Mrs. Ann G. (Peterson) Wiswell, 89, of Waterville, Maine, formerly of Topsfield, beloved wife of Alan S. Wiswell, died Sunday, November 4, 2018, at her residence.
Born in Duxbury on January 17, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Blanche (Simmons) Peterson. She was raised and educated in Duxbury and was a graduate of Duxbury High School, Class of 1946. Ann continued her education receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts, Class of 1950 and taught at Hanover High School and Proctor Elementary School in Topsfield.
Ann met her future husband while they were students at U-Mass in Amherst. He introduced her to mountain climbing and canoeing, two sports they participated in with their children through the years. During their long and happy marriage Ann and Alan shared common and active interests in home, family and volunteerism.
In addition to her loving husband of 68 years, Ann is survived by her daughter, Nancy Pfeiffer and her husband Alan of China, Maine, her sons, Peter Wiswell and his wife, Nan of Jackson Hole, Wyo. and Stephen Wiswell and his wife Lori of Newburyport; her grandchildren, Kathryn, Andrew, Sam and Sydney, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Robert Peterson and Phyllis Frazar.
Relatives and friends invited are invited to her Memorial Service which will be held in the China Baptist Church, 36 Causeway Rd., China, Maine, on Saturday, November 17th at 1 p.m. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers.
